*NOTE: Because all of Carter Cutlery blades have a forged distal taper (thicker in the middle, more thin towards the tip), the blade thickness given is dependent on what part of the blade is measured. This model is denoted as a ‘Skinner’ profile due to the large belly which lends itself conducive for caping and skinning tasks. This style is a throwback to a tradtional skinning profile in Japan.
