This page will serve as a point of contact for a new service offered by Carter Cutlery, the appraisal of second hand knives by Murray Carter. For a small fee ($25) we will research your knife and give you as much of a history as we can. For more in-depth appraisal, in which we would require the knife to be in hand, we will be able to give you even greater detail concerning the history or the evaluation of your knife. This in-depth service will cost $60 (including sharpening and refurbishment), excluding shipping.
Knives requiring more intensive refurbishment, sharpening, or analyzation may be assessed at a higher rate based on time.
This service will be offered towards other makers' knives and will be based on Murray's professional opinion. Therefore the report on other company's knives will be limited information with detailed information; only based on metallurgy or form and function of the knife.
