Because the blades are made from a special hard steel (alloy tool steel), these shears are perfect for cutting synthetic fibers, leather, rubber, and plastic, all of which cause tremendous wear on conventional blades. Because the blades are very hard, after cutting there is almost no wear (chips or nicks) on the blades, and excellent cutting performance will last a long time.
