Traditional rural Japanese cutlery, "kuro-uchi" translated means "black hammer". This construction features a Hitachi high carbon steel forge welded between two layers of Gokunan-tetsu. The blade is left unpolished, retaining a rustic black patina from the heat treating process, which is beneficial in resisting rust. This series features a basic wooden handle, but custom handle options are offered for an additional cost.
