Premium Products
During the creation of 14,700 knives over 22 years, we have refined our knife forging and completion process so that the result is the finest daily use knife that money can buy. We have discovered that creating each blade by eye and by hand is still, after thousands of years, the only way to make cutlery of the highest standards. At Carter Cutlery, we make no use of any modern technology such as electronic temperature controls or automated equipment to manufacture our knives. Shop observers and bladesmithing students alike are always amazed to see the ancient bladesmithing technique that we continue to use to produce our fine blades.
All our products go through testing for quality before they make it to our shelves for sale, and if they don't pass the tests, they are either scrapped, recycled, or, if the flaw is cosmetic and not functional, sold as "seconds" at a greatly reduced price.
On the other hand, from any batch of knives there are always one or two out of one hundred that end up standing "heads and shoulders" above the rest. These products are often a combination of exemplary metallurgy, incredible aesthetics and marked visual appeal.
In an effort to make these superior products available for the whole world (instead of just to those lucky enough to see the knives in person), we have created a new page on this site called "Premium Products." Products found on this page will represent the very best of Carter Cutlery and will bear special markings to identify them as so. These unique markings will verify their premium value and ensure that their value remains with the passing of time. We trust that our most discriminating customers will truly enjoying viewing this page.
We have also placed on the Premium Products page the world's best forestry tools (made by Tosa Uchi-Hamono) having some of the finest handles available.
