owdy folks and Happy New Year!...
Carter Cutlery is starting the year off right. We are officially all moved into our new location in Hillsboro, Oregon, and we are getting the shop assembled quickly so we can get back to work making your favorite knives! We wanted to start off by expressing how excited we are about our outlook on the coming year and the success that we hope it will bring.
Carter Cutlery would like to invite all of you to share in our excitement by visiting our new storefront location, and even being able to experience the day-to-day grind every Thursday evening (5-6:30pm) at our open house starting in February. This is a great time, for those who can make it, to meet and get to know the Carter Cutlery staff, as well as seeing how your knives are made and where they come from. This will be a valuable time to bring Murray all of your metal forging questions, and take a look around in a 'show and tell' type atmosphere. You will have the one-on-one experience with Murray himself as well as the opportunity to view, in person, our showcase of knives. I cannot stress how huge of an opportunity this is to experience a unique and once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity about a method of bladesmithing that has been passed down from generation to generation that dates back hundreds of years.
With Carter Cutlery ramping back up on production, we would advise everyone to get signed up for our new product alerts (send me product alerts) if you have not already done so. We will be releasing some new White Crane Knives with a very eloquent Birchwood handle. We do not expect these knives to last long though so this is why we highly recommend keeping alert when they are posted... we probably will not be able to get them posted to the site fast enough!
To help with the demand that the new shop will bring, Carter Cutlery is pleased to announced yet another addition to our highly talented staff, Kenny Westlake. Kenny has 30 years of metal fabrication experience, and will assist in the day-to-day production operations. Murray also has a four year running relationship with Kenny being that they work out at the gym three times a week together!
With the shop back in full swing, Murray has a
few custom orders that will be given the much needed attention that they deserve. For those of you who have a pending order with Carter Cutlery, you will be pleased to hear that these orders will be completed by the end of Spring 2013. If you are one of these customers, we would like to say thank you, and extend our appreciation for your patience because you will be highly pleased with the results.
If you have not already noticed, we have posted the 2013 course schedule for Carter Cutlery's Traditional Japanese Bladesmithing School so get over to the website and check that out because they are filling up quite quickly. February classes are already full, however we are looking to sign up students for the rest of the year.
Again, for those of you who would like to attend one of Murray's classes but cannot because of time, financial or geographical constraints... do not forget that we offer, by appointment, video conferences (via Skype) where you can ask all your sharpening, bladesmithing, or general questions and receive the benefit of his hard-earned experience and expertise. This service is tried-and-true as well as also being deemed highly effective. Call our office at 503.466.1331 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange your consultation time today!
Thank you once again for your continual support, and we look forward to being able to assist you in any way... do not forget to sign up for those product alerts because more knives will be released shortly! Plus, you can now like/follow Carter Cutlery on Facebook and Twitter.
May the New Year bring you health, prosperity, and success... stay sharp!
