Open House, hundreds of new knives and finally Murray's new book Bladesmithing

We're less than a month away before Murray
departs again for his annual trip to Japan. If you're interested in attending Japan with Murray, we have room for one more person, but you must be quick! For more information, please call Murray at 503-816-6556. This year notable events include: a
tour of Japan's famed Toyko Metropolitian Central Wholesale Market, also known
as Tsukiji Market, for a behind the scenes look into one of the largest and
most lucrative food markets of any kind. Guests will experience areas of the
market that few foreigners will have the opportunity to see as Murray
interviews workers and traders. Murray and his guests will also travel to Kyoto,
the cultural center of Japan, home of the Gold and Silver Pavillion, to visit a
number of Japanese natural waterstone quarries and caves. While there Murray
and guests will have the opportunity to acquire in-depth information about
these precious stones and unique craft. Afterwards, the tour will arrive at
Seki City in time for the annual Seki City knife show and then from there Murray and guests will travel to Tokyo where the trip will end. Last year the show was a
reunion for Murray since it was his first visit to the show in several years.
Before his hiatus Murray would never miss the opportunity to attend this show;
the craftsman and knives are some of the best in the world. You can view the 2010 visit to the Seki City Annual Knife show below:

I just received my neck knife today. I am totally blown away by the
quality and craftsmanship of this knife, not to mention the insane
sharpness. Speaking of sharpness, as soon as I got the knife I
stropped it a few times on some newspaper and shaved my face, and it
did an amazing job with no cuts! Thank you for making a knife that I
will carry with me the rest of my life."
